Updating Sources

We have several Sources extracting data from Snowflake, and they were initially setup with userid/password authentication. We’ve now setup a new Authorizer to use Key Pair authentication, and we need to update our Sources to use this Authorizer.

Opening a Source and Editing it, we’re able to update the Authorizer, perform a successful connection test, and save the Source, but when opening the Source again it still has the old Authorizer.

How can edits to a Source like an updated Authorizer be made to persist?

Hi Walt,

Thank you for sharing your issue. I’m contacting you on behalf of the Dataddo Solutions Team.

From the information I can see, it appears that the source is not updating the setup correctly. Could you please share screenshots showing how you’re updating the authorizer? Additionally, I’d like to know if the old authorizer is still being used for other sources. If not, I would suggest deleting it and checking whether the authorizer update behaves as expected afterward.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Kind regards,
Dataddo Solutions Team

Josep,

Thanks for your response.

This morning, when I opened the Sources to prepare screenshots showing how I was doing the update, I saw that the Sources are now properly updated with the new Authorizer, and that the Flows using them have successfully connected and extracted data several times as per the schedule.

So, the problem is solved.

Now I’m wondering if the non-updated state I was seeing was due to not having refreshed the page properly. Another possibility is that maybe the update didn’t get processed until after the next scheduled run of these flows.

At any rate, thanks for your help and for the helpful information I had gotten about how to setup Key Pair authentication for Snowflake.
